THE SUNFLOWER AND ITS SPIRITUAL MEANING

The spiritual meaning of sunflowers varies in different religious and spiritual groups, but most of the beliefs center around the sun's light. Many belief systems stress the sunflower's constant search for light, or enlightenment. The Chinese believe sunflowers symbolize long life and good luck. The Sunflower has been adopted as a symbol of happiness, strength, a love of the sun and sunlight because it is said to always turn its face to the sun. It is considered by some to be a symbol of faith. In many cultures there are those who believe that the sunflower represents a constant search for light, or enlightenment.
Much of the meaning of sunflowers stems from its namesake, the sun itself. Wild sunflowers are often photographed with their tall stalks and bright petals stretched towards the sun.
For people of different cultures who believe in Spiritualism, it is believed that the sunflower’s very nature also reflects something that spiritualist believers should do, which is to turn to the light
